![]() ![]() So yeah here we are in 2022 and apparently Treyarch was also tasked to help out on this game even though I don't think Infinityward needed much assistance since they got a healthy 3 years of dev time while Cw and Vanguard were in a blizzard of backlash. And most of that game some considered even more of a disappointment than CW. So Cw wrapped up pretty smooth for all it was worth by late 2021 and before you knew it Shitguard launched and boy that zombies mode wasn't up to expectations at all considering the team had LESS THAN A YEAR to put it all together combined with the fact the small Treyarch team wasn't familiar with the new engine for Mw and Vanguard. But at least it wasn't like 90% of the f#cking team this time. This happened midway through Cold War's life cycle similar to what happened before with bo4. And then to add insult to injury Activision had the audacity to task a small team from the zombies devs at Treyarch to work on Sledgehammer's new game and create a zombies mode for it. ![]() Cw definitely picked up in quality as the game went on but no one from the trendy crowd was playing it at that point. The pandemic didn't help this games devolpment either. So they instead made it on the older cod engine which disappointed quite a few people who got back into cod after Mw and Wz and got the impression Treyarch is dogshit since they clearly didn't care enough to follow what was happening behind the scenes. Since Treyarch only had one year of development on this game they had zero time to learn the new engine Infinityward used to create Mw2019 and WZ with the crisp animations and graphics. Fast forwarding past Mw2019's year we get to 2020 and Cold War's launch. So yeah some of the funding was cut off for that game since Treyach now was focusing their attention on a game that wasn't even initially theirs and because of that the 11 year Aether storyline in zombies ended off without even proper CG cutscenes for the last two maps. We figured some of this information out on a Kotaku article before even Mw2019 was announced whenever Bo4 was halfway through it's life cycle still. With only a year and a half of development as opposed to the normal 3 years the dev studios get. Cod 2020 was supposed to be a Sledgehammer game but since they weren't getting along with Raven studios on creative choices or some stupid shit like that Activision threw in Treyarch to pick up the peices instead. With this being said, the developers also previously stated “There will be no Zombies” in a June Q&A, so who knows what the current plans are? Whether Zombies will come to fruition at some point before the next Call of Duty release may be up in the air, but Zombies with modern weapons sure would be cool.Treyarch has been getting stretched thin since late 2019. ![]() These images were later taken down due to copyright, indirectly lending massive validity to the images being real. The information comes from a few leaks out in the community, most notably a menu for all modes in the MW2 beta that showed options for “Round-Based Zombies” and “Outbreak”, including their icons. Infinity Ward hasn’t included a Zombies mode since Call of Duty: Ghosts, and instead chooses to focus on its Spec Ops mode to keep a unique experience from other Call of Duty games. Just so we can get the obvious out of the way, no, there is no Zombies mode as part of MW2. Here’s whether MW2 has a Zombies mode, and if it will get one in the future. Given its popularity in other Call of Duty titles though, some may wonder if Zombies is included in the experience. And finally, there’s Spec Ops, the premier co-op mode for Modern Warfare games since the original trilogy. Multiplayer is the standard PvP-style game mode, testing mechanical skills among other skills like positioning. Campaign involves a single-player story mode, seeing Task Force 141 take on new and emerging threats. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 features three main modes of play, all representing vastly different experiences. ![]()
